“What is that, Moni?!”

In 2018, I knew something had to change about my diet. I had avoided dairy for over a decade, and had all but completely removed gluten, but something still was not right. A friend recommended the Whole30 program to me, and it was life changing to say the least.

As I’ve grown in my understand of what my body needs to feel good, I’ve begun to live more of a paleo-ish lifestyle, with an emphasis on plant-based meals. And while this all sounds well and good, it took a lot of time, patience and money to get there.

I started this blog for people like me who have reformed their eating habits but don’t have endless financial means to make their diet work for them. It is difficult to eat well on a budget – and I hope this blog makes it easier!

I’ve loved trying and making all sorts of recipes that agree with my gut, and have gotten a lot of reactions along the way to my new way of eating. My favorite, from my students, has been, “What is that, Moni?!” said in a variety of tones. I love answering the question every time.
